A Premier League star has spoken out after enduring a recurring wardrobe malfunction on the opening weekend of the season.
Weeks of preparation go into getting ready for the first match of the season but it appears one team overlooked a crucial detail.
That's because Fulham's Calvin Bassey suffered the misfortune of his shorts falling down repeatedly on Saturday, exposing the underworld of his boxers beneath.
Fortunately viewers were spared Bassey going the full monty but the left-back had to continually pull up his shorts, which were seemingly too loose, during a 1-1 draw with Brighton.
We had to wait two days for the Nigerian to address one of the sauciest topics of the weekend but he finally broke his silence on Monday.
'My shorts are going up,' Bassey said on social media, adding a smiley face emoji.
This is an incredibly rare scenario and, on the occasions where shorts do topple, it is typically by some devious design.
For example, last season, Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr also saw his pants fall - but that was because Bournemouth forward Justin Kluivert had tugged them down.
Fans on social media were quick to spark conversation about Bassey's misdadventure.
'Calvin Bassey’s out there redefining fashion AND football. Those shorts are basically a bold new tactical strategy,' one wrote on X.
'That can't be comfortable,' said another.
'I'm surprised there hasn't been a sponsorship offer from boxer companies, or even a belt company,' one quipped.
'Looks like a dad having a go in a charity match,' another joked.
Remarkably, this is not the first time that Bassey has encountered an awkward shorts-related situation.
Last season, Arsenal fans were chanting 'who are ya?' as he warmed up in front of them in April.
And so Bassey decided to show them exactly who he is, bending over and exposing his rear end in a cheeky taunt back at them.
Fulham fans will at least be elated with how their match finished on Saturday.
It looked as if the London side were going home with nothing to show for their travels, until Rodrigo Muniz popped up with a 97th-minute equaliser to ensure the spoils were shared.
