Girona produced a stunning 2–1 comeback victory over Barcelona at home in LaLiga Round 24. Substitute Claudio Echeverri admitted after the match that he had stepped on Jules Koundé, but insisted it was accidental.
“I did step on Koundé, but I was running fast—it was an accident,” Echeverri said in a post-match interview.
Asked if he would have accepted a foul call from the referee, he replied:
“Yeah, yeah, but luckily, they gave us the victory.”
