Eden Hazard reviews his international career with Belgium in the documentary series ‘Believe’.
Eden Hazard is an illustrious player without a team. The former Real Madrid man has still not found a club and rumours of a premature retirement are growing louder by the day. The player himself fuels them in the preview of the documentary series about the Red Devils (Belgium’s national team) that will be released in the next few days under the name ‘Believe’.
“Little by little it’s time to enjoy life with my family and friends. Drinking a few Jupiler beers,” Hazard said of his professional years, which could be taken as a warning that his farewell to professional football could be imminent.
The former Lille, Chelsea and Real Madrid player received a spectacular tribute in Heysel in a convertible last June as a farewell to the national team. “I will always be a fan of the (Belgian) Red Devils. And of beautiful football. If I could enjoy it. But I’ve always worn that captain’s armband with great honour,” he explains of what it meant to him to be able to say goodbye to his years as a Belgian international in this way.
The docu-series ‘Believe’, which can be followed on VTM GO, takes a look at the day-to-day life of the Belgian national team through various protagonists: Lukebakio, Johan Bakayoko, Amadou Onana, Jan Vertonghen and Eden Hazard himself are some of the protagonists who delve into what the ‘Red Devils’ are all about. Hazard looks back on his time in the Belgium jersey.
