One of Arsenal’s main issues last term was a lack of goals.
The Gunners ended 2020/21 with the third-best defence in the Premier League, only behind Chelsea and Manchester City.
It was their lack of goals, however, that saw them forced to settle for an 8th-place finish.
And so far this term, the north London outfit have once again struggled to find the back of the net.
Yes, they did score six against West Brom’s B team in the League Cup. However, in the Premier League, they are one of just two sides yet to score in their opening three outings, with Wolves being the other.
Edu backs Lacazette & Aubameyang to score
Despite a serious lack of goals early in the campaign, Arsenal’s technical director, Edu, has made a rather interesting claim about two of Arsenal’s forwards.
When speaking in an interview recently, the Brazilian stated that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can score 25 goals for Arsenal every season, whilst Alexandre Lacazette can deliver 15-20:

But whilst that may have been true several years ago, Aubameyang’s goal contributions, in particular, have dropped off of late.
The Gabonese international would net just 15 goals for the Gunners across all competitions in 2020/21 and only 10 of those would come in the Premier League.
