Mohamed El Shenawy and Hamdi Fathi may miss this match after muscle problems against Ivory Coast. The former was replaced by goalkeeper Gabaski late in that game and it is the Zamalek shot-stopper who could be given the nod for the weekend's encounter.

Predicted Egypt starting XI: Gabaski, Kamal, Hegazy, Abdelmonem, El Fotouh, Elneny, Soleya, El Said, Salah, Mohamed, Marmoush.

Morocco may still be without Ilias Chair, who missed the last-16 win against Malawi due to injury. His involvement in this clash will depend on a late fitness test.

Predicted Morocco starting XI: Bonou, Hakimi, Saliss, Aguerd, Masina, Louza, Amallah, Amrabat, Boufal, En-Nesyri, El Kaabi.

Morocco is favourite to beat Egypt at 6/4 (2.5) with bet365. At 12/5 (3.4) to win, Egypt are considered serious underdogs.

Mohamed Salah is 9/2 (5.5) to be first goalscorer, while Ryan Mmaee is rated 11/2 (6.5).

With Egypt showing themselves to be strong in defence but rather conservative up front, you may want to back under 2.5 goals at 1/3 (1.33).

Egypt have proven difficult to beat over the last year and they have lived up to that reputation in the Africa Cup of Nations.

They have been able to grind out narrow wins, but Nigeria showed at the start of the competition that their defence is not impenetrable.

Morocco, meanwhile, have found goals easier to come by but are also strong in defence. They have lost just one game in normal time since October 2019.
