Unai Emery insisted Aston Villa will continue to work to improve, despite holding Premier League leaders Liverpool to a 2-2 draw on Wednesday.
Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins' quickfire goals at the end of the first half cancelled out Mohamed Salah's 29th-minute opener at Villa Park, but the hosts were unable to hold on after the break.
Liverpool restored parity just after the hour when Trent Alexander-Arnold's strike from the edge of the box deflected over Emiliano Martinez, after a touch from Tyrone Mings.
Darwin Nunez missed a glorious chance to win the game for Arne Slot's side, with Morgan Rogers and Donyell Malen also going close at the other end to snatching all three points late on.
But after playing their way into the game after a strong start from Liverpool, Emery's side gifted the Reds the lead after Andres Garcia's sloppy pass was punished by Salah.
Indeed, in the Premier League this season, only Southampton (17) have made more errors leading to a goal than Villa (12), something Emery said must change moving forward.
"I see everything, and I am trying to get the best," Emery told TNT Sports shortly after the game.
"We are taking some risks and avoiding it a lot of the time. Today, they scored, but we are not changing and will work to improve."
The result leaves Villa ninth in the top flight, five points adrift of the top four, ahead of welcoming Chelsea to the West Midlands this weekend.
It was the Villans' fourth draw in their last six Premier League games, though their latest stalemate saw them able to withstand a wave of pressure from the leaders.
They ended the contest with an expected goals (xG) total of just 0.73 from their nine shots compared to Liverpool's 2.44 from their 17 attempts at Martinez's goal.
"I think it is fair, the result for both teams," Emery told BBC Match of the Day. "We were competing very well, but we are not happy with just one result like Liverpool. We want to beat them and try and improve and get better.
"They play well and are fantastic. It is another step forward. We tried to compete in our own style and they played well.
"We are conceding more goals than normal, and we have to correct it and work on it. We want to win and when we are winning - despite conceding goals - it doesn't matter. But when we are not winning, we have to concede fewer goals.
"We compete very well with our style. We needed to deal with their threat when they were competing, too. Today, I think the result was fair, and I think it was a good result after how we played."
