Manchester City lost 1-0 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion in Premier League Matchday 9, their second consecutive league defeat. After the match, City manager Enzo Maresca spoke to beIN Sports about the team's performance, the controversial decisions during the game, and the support Haaland received.

Enzo, the team has now lost two league games in a row, but the statistics show that today you had 67 touches in the Brighton & Hove Albion box and took 21 shots, both season highs for the team in the Premier League. Do you think the team deserved to lose today?

I feel the same as I did after the last game, against Aston Villa. It's a shame, because in my opinion we played well enough in both games to earn points. But that's football. We need to improve in some areas and then move forward.

In the first half, there were a couple of moments when you felt you should have had penalties. In the second half, there was also a back-pass that the goalkeeper appeared to handle. Do you think those key decisions went against you today?

I don't know. Honestly, I didn't see anything. The only thing I can say is that we created a lot of chances. But again, it's a strange feeling, because I don't think we should have lost this game, but we did, and we need to move on.

One more question. You created many chances today, but I think only one of them fell to Haaland. Do you think he got enough support today?

I think we had quite a few attacks. He was in the box, and sometimes the ball reached him and sometimes it didn't. But again, I think our performance was good enough for us to get more from the game.

It's still early in the season. What will you do tomorrow? Will you watch Arsenal vs. Liverpool, or will you focus on your own team?

No, we have another game on Wednesday. I will focus on the next match.
