Erik ten Hag and Pochettino favourites to secure permanent Old Trafford move

Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino are the two main frontrunners to become the next Manchester United manager as they search for a permanent replacement at Old Trafford.

Interim boss Ralf Rangnick is set to be relieved of his duties at the end of this season to make way for the new boss, but no manager is confirmed yet.

Ten Hag is currently the favourite in the betting according to Betfair, but Paris Saint-Germain boss Pochettino, formerly of Tottenham, is very close in the market.

Pochettino was reportedly 'desperate' to become United's new manager, sources close to the Argentine told talkSPORT back in November.

Since then, his favouritism to takeover at Manchester United have been ever-present.

Whether taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or now Rangnick, the Argentine is always among the frontrunners, with his future at PSG now in the firing line due to the Ligue One's side crashing out of Europe.

PSG also lost to Monaco at the weekend 3-0 which has put even more pressure on the former Premier League manager to deliver with a squad filled with potential.

But the current Ajax boss is just ahead of Poch in the betting, where he too crashed out of Europe last week with a 1-0 loss to Benfica in the second leg of their Round of 16 clash.
