Arsenal are closing in on the £105million signing of Declan Rice from West Ham United in the summer transfer window which could allow Manchester United the chance to complete a bargain deal

Arsenal could risk Manchester United completing a bargain £30million deal to sign Thomas Partey this summer. The Gunners are closing in on the £105million signing of West Ham captain Declan Rice with the England international undergoing a medical this weekend.

The Sun have reported that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is showing an interest in the Ghana international with Arsenal prepared to let him leave this summer - for the right price. Partey has two years left on his current contract with the Gunners and, if they are unable to come to agree terms on a new deal, this summer may be the perfect time to get a good return of their £42.5million investment.

Partey wants to remain in Europe if he is to leave Arsenal with Juventus strongly linked with making an offer for the 30-year-old. However, it seems United could now enter the race for Partey as Ten Hag looks to strengthen his midfield options.

United have already signed Mason Mount from Chelsea and could now weaken another Premier League rival by pursuing a deal for Partey. Arsenal are said to have set a £30million asking price to let the Ghanaian midfielder leave the club this summer - a fee that could be reinvested in a move for Southampton star Romeo Lavia.

Lavia is valued at £50million by the Saints with Liverpool also interested in signing the 19-year-old talent. Manchester City have the option to buy Lavia next summer for just £40million after selling him to Southampton last summer - meaning any rival club interested in the midfielder would be smart to sign him this summer.
