Erling Haaland has hailed his 'dream' partnership with Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne ahead of the derby on Sunday.

The Norwegian striker has taken to English football like a duck to water, having scored 14 goals in just 10 competitive appearances for the Blues. His incredible start has been aided by the partnership that he has forged with the Belgian playmaker.

De Bruyne already has eight assists to his name and, alongside Haaland, is creating a deadly combination. Speaking to Gary Neville ahead of this weekend's clash with Manchester United, the 22-year-old praised the link-up with De Bruyne.

"This was the kind of thing I was thinking of, all the balls he shoots through, it is a dream for all strikers," Haaland explained to Sky Sports. "He knows that I will be there and I know that he will shoot the ball there in front of the 'keeper and behind the defence."

Sunday will mark the first time Haaland has faced Manchester United as a City player and supporters are relishing him coming up against the fierce city rivals. Odds ahead of Sunday's match had the Norwegian at just 6/1 to score a hat-trick past Erik ten Hag's men.

When asked about the derby, Haaland sent an ominous message to the Reds. "I don’t think I need to say too much, all I need to say is… I’m ready," he concluded.
