Eto’o backs Pagou as Cameroon choose stability over change

FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto’o has put an end to speculation surrounding the future of the Cameroon national team head coach, confirming that David Pagou will remain in charge of the Indomitable Lions.

Eto’o made it clear that the decision was deliberate and strategic, rooted in the need for stability at a time when the national team is undergoing a period of rebuilding. According to the former African Footballer of the Year, constant changes on the bench would only slow progress and disrupt the long term vision being developed for Cameroon football.

There will be no sacking, no sudden reset. Instead, FECAFOOT is opting for continuity, trusting Pagou to grow with the team and lay foundations that go beyond short term results. Eto’o believes that rebuilding a competitive national side requires patience, structure, and confidence in the technical direction already in place.

The focus has shifted from quick fixes to sustainable success. With Pagou retained and fully backed by the federation.
