Former Russia star Valeri Masalitin says Chelsea are missing the leadership of former owner Roman Abramovich.

New chairman and owner Todd Boehly is being criticised this week for changing too much too soon since buying the club last summer.

Former CSKA Moscow striker Masalitin, who also played in Holland and Belgium, told Gazeta: "You see, everything is in the organisation of the club.

"If under Abramovich the club worked like clockwork, now it is a mess.

"Coaches change, and they have their own specific schemes, specific requirements that do not fall within the capabilities of the players.

"It takes time to determine the course of development of the direction of the club, to find the right people, to find the right coach. The football that the leaders want to see, it is necessary to select football players for it..."
