Fabregas on his new life: Now I can eat with my children and put them to bed

Even footballers' lives aren't too different from most people at the moment.

While they have considerably more space and comfort to spend their quarantine in, the majority are having to make the most of the work they can do at home and having more time to spend with their families.

Cesc Fabregas, now in Monaco, spoke to MARCA to discuss how he's passing his days.

"We're like everyone," the World Cup winner said.

"We're locked in the house because we have a social responsibility to not contribute to the spread of the virus.

Exercising has become difficult for most people now, particularly in Spain and Italy, but Fabregas is more privileged than most in that he has the equipment needed to do so at home.

"At the beginning of the week we went to collect some gym equipment and we were brought stationary bikes and strength machines.

"There's no other way because nobody knows how long we'll be secluded and unable to train together.

"I try to exercise for at least an hour a day, maybe a little more.

"There's little else we can do as we can't go running."

Despite the negatives, Cesc is trying to focus on the positives that the coronavirus has unexpectedly given him.

"At least it's allowing me to do things that I've rarely been able to do during my career," he explained.

"Every morning I wake up and have breakfast with my children. I dine with them and I can put them to bed.

"It's a privilege that we have to enjoy because I've never been able to spend so much time with them day to day.

"You have to look for the good, and I'm sure so many people will do the same.

"We have to take advantage of this."

Everyone is having to worry about their diet nowadays, and footballers are no different.

"I have to take care of my food," he said.

"We even have to send photos into our team group to show the nutritionists what we're having for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

"Everything is controlled, as it should be."
