Fabrizio Romano: Howe, Emery, and Conte are Man United's top managerial targets

According to Fabrizio Romano's latest report, Manchester United's head coach candidates, in order of preference, are Howe, Emery, and Conte. Keeping Carrick in place is intended to encourage Manchester United's players to take greater responsibility.

Fabrizio Romano recently reported that after extensive internal discussions involving the owner, CEO, Jason Wilcox, Carrick, and several players including Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United decided to retain Carrick, at least for the next match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The club hopes to empower players to take on greater responsibility rather than making an immediate managerial change. Manchester United has endured eight consecutive matches without a win, and recent performances have been disappointing. There is also a widespread belief within the squad that the summer transfer window was not adequately addressed.

Meanwhile, the club has begun exploratory talks with other managers' representatives. The primary candidates, in order, are Howe, Emery, and Conte. Manchester United holds Emery in high regard, but he remains fully committed to Aston Villa.
