According to the latest report from journalist Falk, Laimer has lowered his demands, as he wants to stay in Munich and be closer to his family.

Bayern and Laimer last met in December 2025, but they have now held another meeting to discuss the player's contract. The Austrian midfielder has indicated that he might not seek as much money as he did in the first round of negotiations.
For him, staying at Bayern is good and important because his family is not far away; they live in Salzburg. He has a house in Salzburg, which is about an hour and a half to two hours' drive from Munich, so he really wants to stay at Bayern.
To achieve this, he is willing to accept a salary lower than what was discussed in the first round of negotiations. That being said, Laimer still hopes for a higher salary than his current one, so negotiations will continue. However, it now seems that it is not entirely impossible for Bayern to retain him.
