Federico Chiesa is expected to leave Liverpool this summer after a couple of difficult seasons at Anfield but a move away from the club might not be as straight-forward as first thought
Federico Chiesa could lose out on a move to Como, with Liverpool pricing the winger out of a switch. The Italian winger is expected to pursue a move away from Anfield this summer following a couple of frustrating seasons at the club.
Having been signed from Italian giants Juventus, he has been limited to just 50 outings for the Reds due to injury and only nine of those have been starts.
Chiesa continues to have admirers in Italy, including at Como, who are aiming to add to their squad having sealed a spot in the Champions League for next season.
But it appears that a deal might not be so straightforward. Como president Mirwan Suwarso was asked about the chance of signing the winger but suggested that he could be too expensive.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, he said: “We are looking at many players. The price for those players is a bit higher than the range we have in mind, though.”
Chiesa, 28, has two years remaining on his contract with Liverpool but has suggested that talks will have to be held this summer regarding his future at the club.
He said: "If I don't find consistency in the Premier League, I'll have to look elsewhere. I barely played in my first year at Liverpool, and in the last one, very little.
"I'll go on a training camp in the US, then I'll talk to the club and the new manager, [Andoni] Iraola, and we'll see."

"I've played very little since the start of 2026," the Italian added. "I have a great relationship with Liverpool. In January, the club and Slot told me I couldn't leave; they needed me, partly for numerical reasons.
"We were in a tight spot. I understood the situation and I was left smiling. Liverpool is always talked about; last year they helped me win the Premier League."
Away from Chiesa, Liverpool might have a few other decisions to make when it comes to their squad this summer as Iraola attempts to reshape the team in his image.
Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson have already left the club at the end of their deals, the latter having signed a deal with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Ibrahima Konate is also departing and is expected to join Spanish giants Real Madrid. Harvey Elliott could also leave following his disappointing loan spell with Aston Villa.
