Turkish football giants Fenerbahçe have reportedly lodged an official complaint with the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) over the protective gear worn by Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, claiming it could endanger other players during matches.

According to reports from Turkish outlet NTV, Fenerbahçe’s medical department prepared a technical report questioning the material and structure of the protective equipment currently being used by Osimhen.
The club is said to be backing its argument with references to IFAB regulations, which govern the Laws of the Game worldwide.
Osimhen, who now plays for Galatasaray, has been using the gear as protection following a recent injury setback.
The Super Eagles forward recently returned to action after recovering from a forearm fracture and has quickly become one of the key figures in Galatasaray’s title push.
If the TFF rules in favour of Fenerbahçe’s complaint, Osimhen could be barred from wearing the equipment in future matches.
Such a decision would be a major talking point ahead of the highly anticipated Istanbul derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, one of the fiercest rivalries in world football.
The development has already stirred debate among Turkish football fans, with many questioning whether the complaint is motivated by genuine safety concerns or psychological tactics ahead of the crunch encounter.
Osimhen remains one of Galatasaray’s most dangerous attacking threats, and any restriction on his matchday gear could have an impact on preparations as the club battles for domestic honours.
Nigerian supporters will also be watching closely, as the striker remains a key player for the Super Eagles heading into upcoming international fixtures.
