Villarreal president Fernando Roig, who is renowned for being direct in his statements, sent a harsh message to Real Madrid's Florentino Perez for his involvement in the proposed creation of a European Super League.
The man in charge at Villarreal directed some stern criticism towards the Real Madrid president, as well as Atletico Madrid, for their role in the breakaway competition.
"He is selfish, selfish and even more selfish. He only thinks about Real Madrid and Villarreal are not going to save him." Roig said to 'A Punt' about Perez.
"All of this stuff not being decided on sporting merit makes no sense.":
The comments of Florentino Perez, in which he assured that the Super League would help to save football as the sport was dying, has angered a number of fellow presidents in LaLiga.
"Football is not dead, the Super League will puncture the bubble," said Valencia president Anil Murthy.
Fernando Roig also hit out at Atletico, making his position clear that sporting merit should be valued.
"I haven't talked to anybody in the three clubs, we should have spoken but they didn't even consider it," Roig previously stated in an interviews with Radio MARCA.
"Atletico Madrid have asked for favours over the phone in the past from Villarreal, but nobody called me about this."
