Experienced attacker Hatem Ben Arfa is reportedly nearing a move to Nantes.
The 32-year-old has been without a club since leaving Rennes at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
The Frenchman scored nine times in 41 appearances for Les Rennais last term but left the club at the end of the season to seek pastures new.
A number of teams have been credited with an interest in the former Newcastle United attacker, but according to L'Equipe, Ben Arfa is on the verge of joining Nantes on a short-term deal.
The report claims that the Frenchman is keen on a return to France's top flight and offered himself to Nantes after Nice turned down the opportunity to complete a deal.
Ben Arfa has turned out for Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris Saint-Germain and Rennes in Ligue 1.
