Frank Lampard has confirmed N'Golo Kante will play no part in Chelsea's Premier League game with Norwich on Tuesday night, with the Frenchman still recovering from a hamstring injury.

Kante, who has made 22 appearances for the Blues this season, has been hit with a series of injuries which date back to last season's Europa League final, with his most recent knock coming in the 3-0 win over Watford earlier this month.

During his press conference on Monday, Lampard revealed Chelsea will have to do without the midfielder for their game with the Canaries, as they continue their push to seal a place in next season's Champions League.

Lampard is also without starlet Billy Gilmour, who could be sidelined for four months following his knee operation, but confirmed that Andreas Christensen is back in the squad.

'Kante's not fit, so that's the end of that one,' Lampard said. 'Christensen is back in the squad, and then the rest we're where we were.

'I don't want to give my starting lineup away but we have a group that's competing. I also have to think about the freshness of the squad.

'As much as we would like a settled team, certain partnerships, for the reasons of where we're at that hasn't always been easy. We'll see for tomorrow.'

However, while he will play no part at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, Lampard did reveal that Kante 'has a chance' of featuring against Manchester United in this Sunday's FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Lampard will be hoping his side can bounce back from their 3-0 defeat to Sheffield United against the already-relegation Norwich.

The Blues were soundly beaten at Bramall Lane, with David McGoldrick netting a brace for the unlikely Europa League chasers.
