Fred became the latest Manchester United player to become a father when wife Monique Salum gave birth to baby Benjamin on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old midfielder expressed joy at his son's arrival as he posted a new family picture to Instagram.
Alongside the photo which had been taken shortly after Monique gave birth, Fred wrote: '16/01/2019 in 1:33 was born my greatest treasure!
'When a child is born, born in the heart of parents one love greater than life and more eternal than time!
'Welcome to the world my beloved son! We love you so much Benjamin'.
Fred joins team-mates Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba in United's new dad club.
Lukaku's girlfriend Sarah Mens gave birth to son Romeo shortly before Christmas, before Pogba and partner Maria Salaues welcomed their first baby early in the new year.
United midfielder Nemanja Matic became a dad for the third time recently when wife Aleksandra gave birth to Anika in London.
And the Old Trafford baby boom shows now sign of slowing down with Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling and Matteo Darmian also set to welcome new arrivals into the world in the near future.
