Frenkie de Jong is a Dutch footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ajax. Widely considered as one of the best among his generation, De Jong is praised as ' The next Franz Beckenbauer'.
A youth product of Willem II, de Jong played through the entire youth system of the club. On 10 May 2015, de Jong made his Eredivisie debut against ADO Den Haag coming off the bench to replace Terell Ondaan in a 1–0 home win. In the summer of 2015, de Jong joined AFC Ajax on a four-year contract. He then helped take Ajax to the 2017 Europa League final. De Jong's feats throughout the 2016–17 season for Jong Ajax saw him being awarded the Jupiler League's Talent of the Season award.
De Jong made 22 appearances for various Netherlands youth teams. On 10 July 2015, de Jong made his international debut for the Netherlands U-19 team against Germany U-19. On 9 June 2018, De Jong made his senior international debut in a friendly win against Peru.
