The Liverpool player took aim at the Turk for his lack of prominence at Real Madrid. "This guy is a joke," the number 8 replied.

"This guy is a joke. Six goals aren't enough to shut you up?" Arda Güler posted a few minutes ago on his Instagram account, visibly upset with Liverpool player Szoboszlai over what happened in the Hungary-Turkey Nations League match. The Ottoman attacking midfielder, while celebrating his goal, made a gesture that annoyed the midfielder and the fans as well. Afterwards, on social media, the Reds player mocked the left-footer's lack of prominence at Real Madrid, where he has been relegated to a secondary role and barely gets any attention.

"1,088 minutes ," the Hungarian commented on a post , referring to the number of minutes Güler has logged this season with Real Madrid. For the Liverpool player, the Ottoman's role is residual and he didn't hesitate to express this on social media, still upset by the gestures that occurred during the match, both during his goal celebration and afterward, when he threatened to tell him to shut up.

Güler, for his part, also took to social media and hit back, citing the six goals Turkey had conceded against Hungary in the corresponding Nations League tie: 3-1 in the first leg and 3-0 in the second leg. The Real Madrid player also scored an outstanding goal in which he showed off his superlative ball striking... and took to Instagram Stories to send him a message: "This guy is a joke. Six goals aren't enough to shut you up?"

This isn't the first time Güler's celebration has raised eyebrows among opposing fans. At the European Championships, during the match between the Ottoman team and Austria, he celebrated his goal in the same way he did last night against Hungary. And the Austrian fans, interpreting the gesture as a provocation, threw all kinds of drinks and objects at the Real Madrid player and his teammates.

This season, Güler has played just over 1,000 minutes, scoring three goals and providing five assists (directly involved in eight). While this may seem like a low figure for a player of his quality and talent, which is especially highlighted with his national team, it's a record that significantly surpasses his previous season, when he only played 422 minutes in the entire 2023-24 season.
