Gabriel Martinelli fulfills Arsenal promise after dazzling Everton display

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has now netted 11 goals in the Premier League this season, none of which have come from the penalty spot

Gabriel Martinelli has fulfilled his promise to get back to his goalscoring best following Arsenal's 4-0 win over Everton.

The Brazilian international went on an eight-game streak across all competitions without finding the back of the net before he was eventually dropped for Leandro Trossard during last month's 4-2 win over Aston Villa. "I always try to re-watch the game and see what my mistakes were and try to improve," Martinelli said ahead of the Villa match.

"It’s not going to be different with this game. I am going to re-watch the game and see my mistakes and try to improve for the next game. Mistakes are part of the game, and we need to nail it and try to not make them.

"It’s easy to say now, when you are here, but when you are on the pitch, it is so much harder. Of course, in a game like this, the team that makes less mistakes are going to win the game, and they won today.

"We are a team. If one [player] makes a mistake, it’s not him, it’s everyone. We are a team."

That result now leaves Mikel Arteta's side five points clear at the top of the Premier League, with 13 games left to play.
