Alejandro Garnacho faces a hugely uncertain future at Manchester United and it appears that Ruben Amorim has already made his mind up on keeping him around beyond the summer
Ruben Amorim has told Alejandro Garnacho to leave Manchester United after his furious outburst. The Argentine’s future has long been up in the air since being axed from the Red Devils’ squad for the Manchester derby earlier this season.
He managed to force himself back into contention but it appears that he is now set to leave Old Trafford this summer, with Amorim having made a final decision. According to The Athletic, the Portuguese coach has told Garnacho that he does not feature in his plans for next season.
It comes after his angry outburst at being named as a substitute for the Europa League final defeat to Spurs. Speaking to reporters, Garnacho said: “It’s hard for everyone.
“The season was s***, both now losing the final tonight, and in the league, where we didn’t beat anyone, that’s the truth. Up until the final, I’ve played every round, and today to play 20 minutes… I don’t know. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens after.”
Amorim has spoken out on Garnacho’s future - as well as Bruno Fernandes’, who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia - but refused to commit either way to whether either of the duo would be remaining at the club beyond the summer transfer window.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s finale against Aston Villa, he said: "I always speak to my players, but the focus now is on the last game. I don't know what is going to happen.
“We have a plan and we prepared for both situations, with Champions League and without. We have an idea what type of squad we want, but now we have to focus on the last game and we will have time address all of those situations."
Amorim’s message to Garnacho came as he addressed his players in a meeting at Carrington. During which, he also informed his stars that he was set to stay in charge at Old Trafford for next season.

He had previously claimed that he could leave the club without compensation if club chiefs did not believe he was the right person to take the club forwards. Meanwhile, Garnacho will now start his search for a new club.
The 20-year-old has three years left on his contract, while he has also been linked with Chelsea and Napoli over recent months. Garnacho has made 58 appearances for United this season in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing a further ten assists.
