According to Inter News, Steven Gerrard stated that he has "no regrets" about rejecting interest from clubs like Real Madrid, Internazionale, and Bayern Munich to stay at Liverpool.

Real Madrid and Internazionale both showed interest in the former midfielder during Mourinho's time as coach, while Bayern considered him a potential replacement for Bastian Schweinsteiger in 2015. Steven Gerrard said on The Overlap Daily show: "I received expressions of interest from some foreign clubs, especially when Mourinho was coaching those teams."

"Internazionale and Real Madrid made several approaches, and then Bayern towards the end of my career: in 2015, when Schweinsteiger was about to leave Bayern, they had some communication with my agent."

The England legend then elaborated on why he rejected Internazionale. "It's incredible how players completely transform their appearance after moving abroad. If you go to Milan now, you'll have new teeth and a wig within four weeks."

Reporter: "Is it because when you go there, the Italians..."

Steven Gerrard: "They dress better than everyone else, look sharper, and are the most stylish. So if you don't adapt, you'll fall behind."

Reporter: "You have to embrace that style."

Steven Gerrard: "That's exactly what made me decide against going to Internazionale."

Reporter: "I don't walk around dressed outrageously... We're all very elegant."

Steven Gerrard: "But I'd be there in a tracksuit and Adidas Superstar sneakers. Those are home habits you can't break."
