Garnacho has spoken publicly for the first time about his decision to join Chelsea, revealing the role played by Enzo Fernandez in the transfer.

Garnacho admitted his final season at Manchester United had been "extremely challenging," revealing that a video call with Chelsea manager Maresca played a pivotal role in his decision to join the Blues. He also touched upon Enzo.
"Clearly, during my last season at United, with a new manager taking charge, the club underwent significant changes. That period proved genuinely difficult.
"Nevertheless, I still managed to get a fair amount of playing time last season, mostly starting but occasionally coming off the bench."
"However, when I spoke with Chelsea and Coach Maresca, the current style of play at the club was also crucial for me. He explained a lot in detail during our video call, so I believe this move holds significant meaning for me. It presents a great opportunity to develop myself at a club like Chelsea."
Prior to his move from Manchester United to Chelsea, Garnacho maintained frequent contact with Enzo Fernandez. As fellow Argentina internationals, Garnacho revealed that since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Enzo has "been a great help".
"I knew him from the national team; he's a brilliant lad," Garnacho added. "We've been in touch all summer – he'd message me every week. Honestly, once I arrived here [at Chelsea], he's been a massive help from the outset, and we've become really good mates now.
