The latest ranking of the Golden Boy Index: Bellingham is firmly at the top of the list, Harvey Simmons is fourth

Tuttosport has updated the latest ranking of the European Golden Boy Index, with Real Madrid star Bellingham at the top of the table and Bayern star Musiala in second place.

This year, the selection mechanism of the Golden Boy Award has changed, and the "Golden Boy Index" has been created. It will reform the player selection process by leveraging data and analytics-driven methodology.

In addition, the Golden Boy Award no longer uses the method of reducing the shortlist by 20 people every month, but selects 20 people from the 100-person shortlist according to the "Golden Boy Index" one month before the award, plus 5 wild cards, to form the final 25 candidates for the Golden Boy Award. A jury of 50 international football journalists will then vote from the shortlist to determine the final ranking.

This edition of the European Golden Boy Index is based on the players' performance between the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and 21 August 2023. The top 10 also includes players from Barcelona and RB Leipzig, with Benfica's Antonio Silva in third place.

Among the other players, Manchester United's Højlund is 14th, Liverpool's Elliott is 19th, Real Madrid's Güler is 24th, Manchester City's Rico Lewis is 26th and Manchester United's Garnacho is 31st.
