Antoine Griezmann saw his move from Barcelona to Atletico Madrid completed in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and he has now bid farewell to the Catalan club and their supporters.

The 30-year-old has rejoined Los Colchoneros on a season-long loan with an option for another year, which includes a compulsory purchase option for 40 million euros.

"Dear Culers. I want to say goodbye and thank you for your affection," Griezmann's message began.

"I gave everything for this shirt, I have been committed to this great club and I am sad not to have been able to enjoy more of you in the stands, but I am proud to have been one of you."

Griezmann made the move from Atleti to Barcelona in the summer of 2019 for 120 million euros, and in his two seasons at the Camp Nou he made 102 appearances, in which he scored 35 goals and provided 17 assists.

Now the French forward returns to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, where he will once again work under the orders of Diego Simeone, with whom he enjoyed some of the best football of his career.
