Group K Standings: Colombia leads after two wins, Portugal to vie for top spot next round

  /  autty

After Matchday 13, two matches in the second round of Group K of the 2026 FIFA World Cup concluded. Colombia has directly qualified for the top 32 with two consecutive wins, and temporarily leads the group standings. Portugal, after a 5-0 victory over Uzbekistan, moved into second place in the group. The top two teams will directly compete in the next round.

Colombia has two wins, scoring 4 goals and conceding 1. Portugal has one win and one draw, scoring 6 goals and conceding 1. Colombia only needs a draw in the final match to qualify as group leader.

According to the knockout stage format, the group winner will be placed in the B1 quarter-final bracket, meaning they will face the winner of Switzerland vs. Canada. The group runner-up will face L2, most likely the winner of Ghana vs. Croatia.

Uzbekistan has been largely eliminated after two consecutive losses. The Democratic Republic of Congo needs to defeat Uzbekistan in the final round to qualify as a third-place team, but most third-place teams have already secured 3 points, making the qualification prospects for both the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uzbekistan not optimistic.
