HARRY MAGUIRE wants to stay at Manchester United next season — regardless of who is the manager.
The England defender, who has one year left on his deal, will have talks with club bosses during the summer.
But Maguire, 31, is desperate to remain at Old Trafford as long as he is wanted, although with Ten Hag set to be sacked, he looks likely to be playing for a different gaffer.
United also have an option of an extra year to extend his deal until 2026.
An incredible £85million arriving from Leicester in 2019, Maguire was close to joining West Ham last year.
After being stripped of the captaincy in 2023, the centre-back felt he was being pushed out by the Dutchman.
Maguire also suffered a nightmare start to the season as he was frozen out of the team and did not make his first Prem start until October 7.
But due to the Red Devils’ injury nightmare, Maguire won his place back until he picked up a calf problem.
Maguire is not surprised by the uncertainty surrounding the future of both Ten Hag and some of the players.
He said: “It is what happens when you play for this club.
“If you don’t get good results, players get scrutinised.
“Players get sold, put on the transfer list and the manager will also come under pressure.
“As a team, this season has been a lot tougher than last year.
“But it is a long old career and you will always have ups and downs. It is the way you react to the downs which pushes you.”
Maguire had hoped to be ready for Saturday’s FA Cup final but he is now expected to be fit for when the England squad meets up.
