Lionel Messi, Argentina and all the fans... look away now.
Canadian rapper Drake has backed Messi and Argentina to defeat France in the final of the World Cup on Sunday but it might not be the show of support that the South Americans want.
The 'Drake curse' is fast becoming a phenomenon in sport, with numerous teams and athletes losing an upcoming sporting event after coming into contact with Drake.
A notable World Cup example was when the rapper posed with the star man of the Canada team, Alphonso Davies. Canada were tipped to be a surprise team in Qatar but lost all three games and crashed out at the group stage.
Now, footage has surfaced on social media of Drake, wearing the jersey of Italian team Napoli, discussing Sunday's final between Argentina and France.
'I'll take Argentina, he'll take France. That will be a vibe,' Drake says in the footage that appears to be filmed in a studio with a friend.
The clip is just three seconds long but soccer fans were quick to jump on what it could mean.
'Drake is betting on Argentina to win the World Cup. Everyone put your money on France,' wrote one fan in response to the clip.
'I swear to god if Argentina loses its Drake's fault,' said another.
Aside from the Canada incident, Drake also lost over $2 million betting on former UFC champion Israel Adesanya to defend his title against Alex Pereira.
He also recently placed a losing bet of $649,000 on an accumulator featuring Barcelona to win El Clasico against Real Madrid and Arsenal to beat Leeds.
France heads into Sunday's final as narrow favorite and is the defending champion after winning the tournament in 2018 in Russia.
But all eyes will be on Lionel Messi who, at 35, has one final chance to win the trophy that has evaded him throughout his career.
Many believe that if Argentina win, it will establish Messi as the best to have ever played the game.
