Hat-trick display against Le Havre 'not the match of my life', says PSG's Hakimi

Achraf Hakimi believes he has played better matches in his career despite scoring a hat-trick and grabbing two assists in Paris Saint-Germain's victory over Le Havre.

Hakimi starred in a 5-1 win at Stade CMA CGM Oceane, with Mika Godts and Senny Mayulu also hitting the target for the Ligue 1 leaders.

Josh Maja's 18th-minute opener put Luis Enrique's side on the back foot, but two goals in as many minutes from Godts and Hakimi ensured PSG went into the break in front.

From there, PSG flexed their muscles and turned on the style, with Hakimi completing his hat-trick in the 69th minute, having brought up his brace with a superb free-kick.

Hakimi is only the seventh player to be involved in five goals in a single Ligue 1 match since Opta began analysing the competition in 2006-07, after Neymar, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe, Memphis Depay and Carlos Eduardo.

He is also the first defender to achieve the feat over that period, having never been involved in more than two goals in a Ligue 1 game in his previous 135 appearances in the competition, though Hakimi said his latest display did not rank among his best.

"No, it's not the match of my life. I think it was a great performance," Hakimi told reporters. "I'm very happy with my performance, and it's true that it's my first hat-trick.

"But there are matches with more emotions and that touched me more. I'm very happy about the win. I've been like this for a long time but I don't score.

"I scored here and people think it's a great match, but I think I've had a very good start to the season. I'm very happy.

"I help the team in all respects. Against Le Havre, it was with the goals. It can be different sometimes. I'm happy with my level. I hope to continue like this."

PSG have now won each of their last nine matches in all competitions, their second-longest winning run under Luis Enrique after a run of ten between January and March 2025.

And they did so without injured forwards Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, while the in-form Desire Doue was left on the bench, allowing Godts and Mayulu to take centre stage.

Godts has been involved in three goals in his last two games for PSG in all competitions (two goals, one assist), having only managed one of his first seven (one assist v Lille).

Mayulu, meanwhile, scored and assisted in a Ligue 1 match for the second time in 57 appearances (one goal, one assist), after December 2025 (one goal, one assist v Rennes).

With Marquinhos also unavailable through injury, Hakimi donned the captain's armband before passing that responsibility over to Warren Zaire-Emery when he was substituted.

Hakimi was asked whether he had to perform even better with so many senior players out injured, something he pushed back on.

"No, we are a team, there are important players who are injured, but with the whole team, everyone has to put in more. PSG is a team above all," Hakimi added.
