How Bayern could line up with Ronaldo and De Ligt but no Lewandowski or Gnabry

BAYERN MUNICH could be a much-changed team come the start of the 2022/23 campaign.

The German champions comfortably clinched their 10th straight Bundesliga title last season as they continue to dominate domestically.

But a shock quarter-final elimination to Villarreal in the Champions League will make them keen to improve in the summer window.

They have already been dealt a blow after Robert Lewandowski publicly stated his desire to leave Bayern - with a transfer to Barcelona in the works.

And Julian Nagelsmann could also be left without Serge Gnabry as he is linked with a move to Manchester United, Manchester City, or even a return to Arsenal.

But Bayern are also being linked with some big name arrivals.

They have already secured the signature of former Liverpool man Sadio Mane for £35million.

And the Senegalese attacker could be joined in Munich by a former Premier League rival.

Cristiano Ronaldo told Man Utd last week that he wants to leave Old Trafford this summer.

He could be the perfect man to replace Lewandowski up front - with Bayern joining Chelsea as the favourites to sign the 37-year-old forward.

In midfield, RB Leipzig star Konrad Laimer is hoping to finalise a move to the German champions.

He has just one year left on his current deal and - according to BILD - has told Leipzig he will move to Bayern for free when his contract expires next summer if they do not allow him to go now.

And another huge transfer which could be finalised by Bayern is the acquisition of Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.

Contract talks broke down between Juve and De Ligt and it is now believed that he will not extend beyond 2024.

He has been linked with Chelsea, but a move to Bayern seems the most likely option.
