With other clubs unwilling to pay his release clause, Chelsea have stolen to the front of the queue to sign Timo Werner this summer.
The Premier League club are set to pay the striker's 65 million euro release clause with the money they receive from Alvaro Morata's move to Atletico Madrid.
Chelsea and Atletico agreed a deal last summer that would see Los Rojiblancos have an obligation to buy Morata for 54m euros on July 1, 2020.
Atletico also paid Chelsea 10m euros for the cost of the Spaniard's initial 18-month loan at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano when he first moved in January 2019.
As a result, Chelsea will make 64m euros from Morata's transfer, which pretty much covers the cost of their move for Werner.
The German international has scored 31 goals in 40 games this season for Leipzig and will now play alongside Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic in Frank Lampard's attack.
