As a legend of both Mexico and Real Madrid, Hugo Sánchez discussed Mexico's performance at this FIFA World Cup on the show, expressing his hope to see Mexico and Spain meet in the final.

"No Mexican team has ever performed so well in a group stage without conceding a single goal. We're also delighted by the high level of football we're seeing," Hugo Sánchez said on the "El Larguero" program.
When discussing tournament favorites, Hugo Sánchez highlighted two: Mbappé as a leading contender for the Golden Boot, and Spain as one of the strongest candidates for the trophy. "Mbappé is a favorite because people believe France will go far, just as Spain will," he explained.
Regarding Spain under De la Fuente, the Mexican legend dismissed their opening draw as a temporary setback: "If you look past that first match, the confidence gained from subsequent victories shows Spain remains a serious title contender."
He also shared his dream final scenario: Mexico versus Spain. In his view, while such a matchup would be thrilling, it's unlikely to happen.
The interview also addressed Álvarez's future, with speculation linking him to Barcelona. Hugo Sánchez defended the forward's ambitions, drawing from his own experience: "What players want is to be at a club capable of achieving important and great things."
The former striker emphasized how crucial Álvarez's decision would be for his career: "If his dream is to play for Barcelona, it's hard to say Real Madrid would be eager to sign him. Of course, only the world's best players play for Real Madrid, and Álvarez is of that caliber."
