Bournemouth are expected to sell Dean Huijsen this summer as an impressive season from the teenager has seen a queue of clubs form to secure his signature in the coming months
Chelsea have taken he lead in the race to sign Bournemouth Dean Huijsen. The Spain international has piqued the interest of a number of Premier League clubs but could complete a move to Stamford Bridge ahead of this summer's Club World Cup.
Huijsen has a £50million release clause in his contract and has suitors in the shape of Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United. But the Independent report that the 20-year-old is giving serious consideration to a switch to the Blues.
Enzo Maresca's side are willing to offer a seven-year deal to the Cherries star who has established himself as one of the Premier League's most promising stars. Huijsen has made 27 appearances in the division as Andoni Iraola attempts to lead the team to the best ever finish in the division.
With the presence of the central defender's release clause, Bournemouth will accept Huijsen's departure it appears, with Antoine Semenyo and Milos Kerkez also possibly readying for moves. The trio would see the south coast club earn significant investment.
Real Madrid have also been interest in signing Huijsen, though are said to have decided against a move this summer. The Netherlands-born ace commented on speculation surrounding a transfer taking him to the Bernabeu.
"It’s absolutely an honour when I hear that such a big club is interested in me," he said. "I’m only thinking about ending the season well, then when the time comes, we’ll see what happens there”.
Iraola has been untroubled with the interest in his star defender. Speaking earlier in the month the Spanish coach praised his star's concentration.
“My only concern with Dean is he keeps his focus here," he said. "I see he trains very well. He’s very focused on improving individually, improving us as a team collectively.
“He knows we have seven very important games ahead of us and I see him in a really good place. No, I don’t think the noise around is affecting him and I see him in a good place.”
Huijsen has reportedly given himself a month to decide on his future. While Real Madrid have been touted as a dream destination, the youngster is said to want to remain in the Premier League.
Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on the player's situation and boss Vincent Kompany is in the market for a new, young defender. The Bundesliga giants are outsiders for his signature however.
