Everton have completed the transfer of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea this week in what has been a fast-moving story.

The England international Dewsbury-Hall has only been at Stamford Bridge for a year and was only handed two Premier League starts from the Blues under manager Enzo Maresca who brought the midfielder over from Leicester City when he arrived.

Dewsbury-Hall cannot wait to get started

Dewsbury-Hall does not want to leave Chelsea as per reports but he has been deemed surplus to requirements after helping the side lift the Club World Cup and Conference League last season. Now, he is an Everton player, and he expressed his delight at signing for the side who he thinks are one of the biggest in the country.

"I'm so, so excited to get started. Just sitting here in the stadium, it's unbelievable.

“There's a real buzz about this. It feels right for me. So just that alone gives me the motivation and the extra determination to show everybody, to prove a point and have a really successful time here.

"Everton's one of the biggest clubs in the country, and I think that in the next couple of years, the future is going to be bright. It was an easy decision in the end to come here and play for this club.”

Moyes played a huge part in bringing him to the Toffees

The Blues have spent an eye-watering £242m on new signings this summer, and the sale of players who often took their place on the bench, such as Dewsbury-Hall, is essential to balance the books.

The 26-year-old spoke more on the move and how manager David Moyes was a big factor in convincing him to make the move to Merseyside.

"For me to leave my old club, it would have had to have been for something special, a project that I really believed in. After speaking to the manager and seeing the ambitions with the new stadium and everything, it felt like the right club, it felt like the right fit for me for the next step.

"(Moyes) said he's been admiring me for a while; he loves the way I play and just explained to me what he sees me doing in my role in this team. That's what you want to hear as a player.

"I have enormous respect for him; he's a legend of the game, so it'll be a pleasure to work under him."

Moyes believes Dewsbury-Hall will thrive

Finally, Moyes weighed in on the deal and revealed what he thinks he can bring to the side that will be hoping to challenge for a European spot under the Scotsman next season.

“We are pleased that Kiernan has chosen to join Everton. He had other clubs interested in signing him, but he was excited by the opportunity and the challenge at Everton.

“Kiernan’s quality and experience of the Premier League give us the hope that he can adapt quickly.

“We look forward to working with him, and I’m sure all Evertonians will give him the support he needs.”
