Arsenal transfer news as Declan Rice is officially announced as a new Gunners player with the reveal made on YouTube with Mikel Arteta welcoming his new midfielder on Saturday
Arsenal have finally announced the arrival of Declan Rice from West Ham United.
Rice confirmed his departure from the Hammers on Saturday morning with David Moyes' side also releasing a statement upon his departure from the London Stadium. But it was not until 1pm on the same day that the Gunners formally confirmed their signing of Rice, releasing a video on YouTube to mark the England star's arrival in a whopping £100 million deal.
Arteta stands in front of his players before a review of the 1-1 draw with Nurnberg on Thursday and says: "Before we start the review of what happened in Germany, I would like to welcome the new additions to the club, our family. 'Declan, welcome to the family.'"
The camera then pans to Rice, who is sat next to England team-mate Aaron Ramsdale, with Arteta then asking him if there's anything he'd like to say. Rice replied: "Yes, I will say a few words. Obviously, it's the first day, I am really looking forward to playing with you all and sharing many good moments together.
"Obviously, I have seen what you guys have been doing in the last couple of seasons, so I am really looking forward to getting started and enjoying a few trophies together." Arteta then shouts 'vamos' which means 'come on' in his native Spanish before another round of applause in a classy moment from the former Gunners midfielder as he looks to get Rice to settle in as quickly as he can.
