In the second round of the Champions League group stage, Inter suffered a 3-4 home defeat to Club Brugge.
Previously, Inter was eliminated from the Champions League in the playoff round last season after losing twice to Bodø/Glimt and missing out on the Round of 16. This season, in the league phase, they have lost to Real Madrid and Club Brugge in their first two matches. Combined with their playoff losses last season, this marks the first time in Inter's history that they have suffered four consecutive defeats in the Champions League.
Additionally, this was the first time in Champions League history that a Belgian team scored four goals in a single match against an Italian opponent.
