Is FC Bayern planning a surprise transfer coup for Trincao?

FC Bayern is looking for a reinforcement for the left side of the attack. Francisco Trincao from Sporting Lisbon could be an option.

FC Bayern Munich is looking ahead to the coming transfer window and has its sights set on the left side of the attack. Behind regular player Luis Díaz, the record champions lack a reliable alternative. The names Said El Mala and Yan Diomande have been very popular recently, but both transfers are associated with considerable hurdles.

El Mala is apparently drawn to the Premier League, while RB Leipzig is demanding a transfer fee of up to 100 million euros for Diomande - a sum that is hardly feasible for Bayern. In this situation, Francisco Trincao of Sporting Lisbon could come into focus as a possible solution, as the Portuguese sports newspaper Record reports.

Portuguese new signing for FC Bayern?

The Portugal international is an attacking all-rounder who can be used on the wings as well as in the centre. In the current season, he has scored an impressive 22 goal involvements in 32 competitive games. Trincao is under contract with Sporting until 2027 and has a release clause of 60 million euros, but this is above his current market value of around 35 million euros.

Trincao, who has already played for FC Barcelona and Wolverhampton Wanderers, has found new momentum in Lisbon. Nevertheless, the question remains whether he would be the ideal choice for the vacant left wing position at Bayern. Because Trincao feels more comfortable on the right wing or in attacking midfield - positions that are already strongly occupied by the Munich team.Although Trincao is convincing on the pitch, he is not a perfect solution for the left wing position. If the transfer market continues to deteriorate in the summer and other options are not financially feasible, Bayern could still take a closer look. Currently, however, Trincao remains more of a side note in the deliberations of the record champions. Bayern will closely monitor developments in the transfer market and weigh up whether Trincao is actually a realistic addition to the squad.
