According to Mediaset, Torino and Chapecoense have reaffirmed their friendship, with both clubs connected by tragic histories.
Both clubs have experienced devastating tragedies: on May 4, 1949, a plane crash occurred in Superga, killing the entire Grande Torino team; on November 28, 2016, Chapecoense suffered the same fate in Colombia. The South American club's social media stated: "Between Chapecó and Torino, history connects us – the 2026 goalkeeper jersey is a tribute to Torino, a fraternal club whose history is rooted in respect, remembrance, and solidarity."
The jersey showcased by Chapecoense on social media is predominantly maroon with gold accents. The Brazilian club also stated: "Every detail of this kit carries elegance, strength, and meaning: it reminds us that football is far more than just a game. Friends forever."
