Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens is relishing the physicality of the Premier League, labelling some set-piece tactics as "a bit of a war".

Lammens has made an impressive start at Old Trafford, helping United push for a Champions League spot, and his strengths when defending set pieces were on show against Everton on Monday.

Of the 10 corners that Everton won, Lammens got first contact on five of them; that is the joint most of any goalkeeper in a single Premier League game this season.

Also, when compared to predecessors Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir, Lammens had claimed a higher percentage of crosses since the start of the 2024-25 season (7.3% - Onana claimed 4.1% of crosses and Bayindir 5.3%).

United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo compared Everton's aggressive set-piece tactics to WWE's Royal Rumble, but Lammens enjoyed his role in the chaos.

"I think it's been all season like this," he said. "For me, it's just the way it is. It is the Premier League.

"It's a bit of a war in the 16 [metre penalty area]. It's also one of my strengths, so sometimes I like the challenge as well.

"I enjoy it as well, getting out of my comfort zone a little bit and dealing with those situations because now, even though there are a lot of bodies next to me, I still come for crosses.

"That also gives me a good feeling that I'm doing well and doing those things well.

"Of course, there has to be certain rules. I mean, you can't get to the point where it's too much. That's something that the Premier League has to look towards."

Lammens has now prevented 5.5 goals in the league, according to Opta's xGoT model, which ranks top of the division this season.
