James Milner took to Instagram to reveal the fact he had backed Mrs Milner in the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle.
The Liverpool midfielder shared his victory online after receiving several WhatsApp messages to ask if he had backed the Irish horse.
Milner even said his wife is 'demanding all the winnings' after the six-year-old landed the three-mile stamina test in comfortable fashion.
Redford Road and Potters Hedger were the pace-setters for the race. However, it was Mrs Milner who produced through the pack to lead before the last.
Despite the attentions of a loose horse, the 12-1 chance kept on strongly to win by five lengths from The Bosses Oscar.
The victory saw Gold Cup-winning jockey Bryan Cooper end his four-year wait for a Cheltenham Festival winner.
Cooper, who won jump racing's most prestigious race on Don Cossack in 2016, has suffered several injuries in recent years.
However, the 28-year-old returned to the track to reclaim victory and continue the Irish domination at the Cheltenham Festival.
Speaking of his victory, Cooper said: 'It's great – it's been a lonely couple of years walking out of this place without any winners after you get used to riding them.
'I had her grand early doors and she was jumping well, but I missed the third-last and it just got a bit crowded, and I just had to sit and suffer.
'I knew I had a bit of pace, so if I did get knocked back a pace or two, I would get there easy enough.'
