Juan Carlos Restrepo, the stepfather of James Rodriguez, has had some strong words to say about the midfielder's future.
The Colombian star is set to leave Real Madrid this summer and speculation over who his new club will be is starting to gather pace with rumours of a move to Atletico Madrid.
In an interview on Colombian radio, Restrepo spoke frankly about what he wants for his stepson.
"My opinion is that James is a professional and has behaved like a professional, working as hard as he can with the correct attitude and working to show that he's in good condition," he told 'Super Combo del Deporte en Cali'.
"I just want to see my son happy and what makes him happy is playing football, which is what God put him on this Earth to do.
"I really like Spanish football and there's been a lot of talk of him going to Atletico, which I'd love because they've got a great support and a fantastic stadium.
"I don't know if it will actually come to pass.
"There are great clubs in Italy and England as well.
"I think that staying in Spain would be the best option for his daughter, especially if they could stay in Madrid."
