According to Sport, Joan Garcia discussed Ter Stegen's future, Szczesny's competition, and Yamal's physical condition in an interview.

Although he hasn't played a minute, Joan Garcia is thoroughly enjoying his first World Cup with the Spanish senior national team. After an excellent debut season for Barcelona and an undisputed Zamora Trophy win, the goalkeeper from Salient is embracing his role in the Spanish squad with a "natural" attitude.

Joan Garcia told RAC 1: "We all know what we need to contribute. De la Fuente didn't say anything specific to me. Whether playing or not, we are all very clear about the objective."

The Catalan goalkeeper is naturally also following all the news surrounding Barcelona. One piece of news concerns the goalkeeper position, specifically Ter Stegen's future. It is understood that Ter Stegen's move to Michel's Ajax is progressing well.

Commenting on the matter, Joan Garcia said: "I don't know how far things have progressed. If all parties believe it's the best option for him and the club, then so be it. I hope the final decision is the best for Marc, after all, that's what matters most after two difficult seasons."

Joan Garcia also praised Barcelona goalkeeper Szczesny. He said: "He helped me a lot, not just tactically, but with other things too." He then praised Szczesny for easily "accepting his role" this season, despite being "an important goalkeeper throughout his career."

Joan Garcia added: "This situation is good for everyone. Of course, he wants to play, and I see it as a competition that will push me to maintain my best level."

In addition, Joan Garcia also approved the acquisition of Anthony Gordon. The winger caused Barcelona trouble against Newcastle United, and Joan Garcia highlighted his "intensity, pressing, and good decision-making with the ball," stating that he "can bring a lot to Barça."

Joan Garcia also expressed approval for the potential acquisition of Julián Álvarez, though his statement was less direct to avoid controversy: "Everyone knows he's an excellent player, but he belongs to Atlético Madrid. There's not much we can do about the decisions he and the club make. We don't know if the news in the media is true or false, and we won't pay too much attention to it."

Finally, regarding Yamal and his physical condition, Joan Garcia clearly stated: "I think he's in good shape." He believes "the steps taken previously were correct, which was to integrate him little by little and gradually get him back into rhythm."

Joan Garcia predicted: "He played the full game a few days ago and was indeed a bit tired, but that's normal. Through these training sessions, he has already gained game rhythm, and I think we can now see 100% of him."
