Match Report
Kenan Yildiz scored the only goal to give Juventus a winning start to life under Igor Tudor, as they edged out Genoa 1-0 at the Allianz Stadium.
The Bianconeri moved back to within a point of fourth-place Bologna, who were also 1-0 victors at Venezia earlier on Saturday.
Tudor - a two-time Serie A winner with Juve during his playing career - replaced Thiago Motta during the international break, after heavy defeats against Atalanta and Fiorentina followed the club's exits from the Champions League and Coppa Italia.
Morten Frendrup went close with a volley early on for the visitors before the hosts took the lead in the 25th minute.
Yildiz drove into the box and skipped away from a challenge, before firing past Genoa goalkeeper Nicola Leali from a tight angle.
Patrick Vieira's side sought a response after the break, but the closest they came to equalising saw Andrea Pinamonti volley wide in the 54th minute.
Timothy Weah should have put the result to bed in stoppage time, but scuffed his effort straight at Leali following a counter. Nevertheless, the single goal was enough to get the hosts back to winning ways.
7 - Kenan #Yildiz (seven goals, born on 4th May 2005) equaled Moise Kean (seven) as the player with the most goals scored for Juventus in Serie A before turning 20 years in the era of three points for a win. Teenager.#JuveGenoa #SerieA pic.twitter.com/99WoSqa45m

Data Debrief: Yildiz matches Kean
Tudor became the first Juve coach to win his opening match in charge after replacing a manager during an ongoing season since Ciro Ferrara in May 2009.
Yildiz was the hero, with the 19-year-old equalling Moise Kean for the most Serie A goals scored for Juventus before turning 20 during the three-points-per-win era (both seven).
At the other end, the Bianconeri held out for their 15th league clean sheet this season, at least two more than any other side in the big five European leagues.
