Juventus have announced that Bremer has decided to undergo selective arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
The centre-back missed their last two games against Villarreal and AC Milan and has now opted to have the procedure after medical consultation.
Bremer also played just six Serie A games last season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury early on in the campaign.
In a statement released on Monday, the club said: "This morning in Lyon, Gleison Bremer underwent a medical consultation with Dr. Sonnery-Cottet, who diagnosed him with a torn medial meniscus in his left knee.
"In the next few hours, the player will undergo selective arthroscopic meniscectomy."

Reports suggest that the Brazilian defender could be out for a month, with crucial fixtures against Como, Real Madrid and Lazio, all away from home, coming up for Igor Tudor's side.
It is also the second blow to Tudor's backline in recent weeks, after Juan Cabal suffered a thigh injury in their 2-2 draw against Villarreal in the Champions League.
