Juventus are reportedly set to relaunch their attempts to sign Sassuolo star Manuel Locatelli.

The central midfielder is highly coveted after several impressive performances for Italy during the European Championship this summer, which the Azzurri won, beating England on penalties in the final with Locatelli featuring off the bench.

And according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian giants are keen to push for the 23-year-old, who is understood to be top of their shopping list.

Their tweet, translated into English, reads: 'Juve is relaunching a new bid for #Locatelli, with a resale bonus included'.

However, the Serie A sides have not yet reached an agreement or scheduled an official meeting to discuss the deal.

Sassuolo want £35m, which Juventus can only fulfil if they also include a young player as part of the deal, with Juve defender Radu Dragusin and midfielder Nicolo Fagioli have been mentioned as potential makeweights in the offer.

They would likely move on an initial loan with an option or obligation to buy, with a 25 per cent sell on clause understood to be attractive to Sassuolo.

According to Calciomercato.com, Sassuolo rejected an offer of a two-year loan for £4m with an option to buy for £21.5m plus bonuses of around £6m, and want around £7m for the loan, with an obligation to buy for £21.5m and up to £8.5m in add-ons.

Arsenal have bid £34m for Locatelli, according to his agent, but Juventus is said to be the player's preferred destination.
