Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been one of the most successful managers in the Premier League in recent years but uncertainty over his future had emerged last year
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he will remain in the Premier League until his contract at Anfield expires in 2026.
The German has been in charge on Merseyside since 2015 and has guided the club to years of success. In recent years, the Reds have been one of England and Europe's powerhouses, winning the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
Last season was Klopp's most difficult in charge in the Premier League, with his side finishing only fifth in the table following an inconsistent 10 months.
This summer has seen him linked with a possible return to Germany as the new head coach of the national team. Current boss Hansi Flick is currently under heavy pressure after a run of four wins in the past 16 matches and Klopp had been touted as a possible successor.
"The problem that stands in the way of the whole thing is my loyalty. I can't just leave Liverpool now and say I'll take over Germany for a short time. That doesn't work and the request isn't even there.
"If I'm supposed to do that (manage Germany) at some point, then I have to be available and I'm not currently. I have a responsibility towards the club," he added at a panel discussion hosted by the Fischer group of companies.
“Basically, it’s an interesting job. But I don’t know yet whether I’ll do something completely different after I leave Liverpool. I want to keep my options open.”
Klopp's intentions to stay in the Premier League until 2026 is not good news for the rest of the Premier League. Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham have all been the victims of Klopp's Liverpool since his arrival.
Under the German, Liverpool are expected to continue their presence as one of England's elite. Following a difficult year, many have tipped the Reds to be challenging Manchester City for the title in May.
